Creeping closer to the edge

December 7, 2018

So, yesterday the United Nations issued a report shining a particularly bright light on the divide between the need for immediate and significant action on climate change, and the steps taken to date.

So, yesterday, the Trump Administration unveiled a plan to open 9 million acres of federal land to drilling and mining by stripping away protections for the sage grouse, an imperiled ground-nesting bird that oil companies have long considered an obstacle to some of the richest deposits in the American West.

The New York Times writes that, according to environmental policy experts, “In one stroke, the action would open more land to drilling than any other step the administration has taken.”
