Yesterday, I shared the news that the city of Sydney, Australia is now being powered with 100% renewable energy.

Today? How about this:

A start-up in India is sucking carbon dioxide out of the air, combining it with a mixture of marble chips and powder and — voila! — the company, Carbon Craft Design, then presses the mixture into elegantly-designed tiles.

The company, headquartered in Mumbai, is tackling two problems at once: helping India’s housing industry — the world’s third largest — while reducing carbon emissions.

Who knows how expansively this technology can be scaled up, but it’s another piece of good news.

And, boy, do we ever need some good news.
