When she applied to renew her driver’s license, Vermonter Libby D’Avignon did a very ordinary thing: she checked the box indicating that she was willing to be an organ donor.

The result was anything but ordinary.

D’Avignon died at the age of 54 last October at the University of Vermont Medical Center.  In her final minutes of life, before her breathing tubes and telemetry wires were removed so that her organs could be harvested to save the lives of four different people, she and her loved ones were provided with an “honor walk” as she was wheeled to the operating area.

This video is worth watching.
