The numbers in our prisons aren’t getting any better, either.  According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, 3,483 federal prisoners are currently testing positive for COVID-19, and another 5,370 have recovered. 295 staff members are currently testing positive, and 631 have recovered.

The federal prison in Seagoville, Texas, which houses about 1,500 inmates, has 1,039 inmates currently testing positive.

The graph of federal inmates and staff who have tested positive looks eerily similar to one of the country as a whole:
