If you think you are annoyed by robocalls now, just wait: by one estimate, in just a year’s time, fully half of the calls we get will be robocalls, of which 90% will be spoof calls (falsely appearing on your phone as a number from a contact in your phone).
But don’t worry: The U.S. Government is levying massive fines against these operators.
The problem is, no one is paying the fines.
According to this article at the Ars Technica website, the Federal Communications Commission has issued $208.4 million in fines against robocallers since 2015. That’s all very well and good, but much has the commission actually collected?
My advice: Write letters.
