An Austrian man recently beat his own world record, enduring more than two and a half hours encased in a quarter-ton box of ice cubes.

Josef Koeberl, 43, who wore nothing but a skimpy pair of bathing trunks, told the crowd in Melk, Austria (all of whom were wearing masks, by the way) that he was able to withstand the “wave of pain” by “visualizing and drawing on positive emotions.”

When it was over, Koeberl said that “it was basically not unpleasant,” and helped himself to an ice cream cone.
