The Upper Valley is going to be some cold today, with high temperatures projected to (maybe) reach zero, and winds making it feel 20-30 degrees colder.

By some measures, that’s downright balmy.

Earlier this week, it was -30° at the summit of Mount Washington in Gorham, NH, and the 65 mile per hour winds made it seem like -70°. A worker at the weather observatory took the opportunity to go outside (briefly) to eat some leftover spaghetti. This is what it looked like before he even had a chance to take a bite:
