As Paul Harvey was wont to say, “Here is a strange….”

The McLeod Plantation is a large estate in Charleston, South Carolina where, prior to Emancipation, as many as 100 slaves labored on the plantation. There are nearly 400 plantation museums, where visitors can come and get a taste of antebellum plantation life. Some guests to the McLeod Plantation have not been pleased.

According to this article in The Guardian, some visitors object to the tour’s heavy emphasis on the horrors of slavery. One visitor complained of being “subjected to a lecture aimed at instilling guilt,” whole another sniffed: “We didn’t come to hear a lecture on how the white people treated slaves.”

Um… hello?
