Longtime readers of this blog are aware that I haven’t hesitated to criticize Jeff Bezos for any number of reasons. So this post may come as a bit of a surprise.

Now that he has retired from actively managing Amazon, Bezos has begun to find places to put his estimated $200 billion in wealth (as of last week). And whaddaya know?

Last week, Bezos donated $100 million to the Obama Foundation. And, in an address to the UN Climate Change Conference earlier this month, he pledged to donate $2 billion toward restoring natural habitats and transforming food systems, part of the Bezos Earth Fund’s $10 billion commitment toward fighting climate change. He has also said that he aims to have Amazon powered by renewable energy by the year 2025.

Hard to criticize that.
