Here are a few of sobering thoughts from a recent Oxfam report on global wealth inequality:

– 162 billionaires have the same wealth as the poorest half of the world. The world’s 2,153 billionaires hold more wealth combined than the 4.6 billion people who constitute 60% of the planet’s population.

– In 2019, the world’s 500 richest people added $1.2 trillion to their wealth.

– The 22 richest men in the world have more wealth than all of the women in Africa.

– If everyone sat on their wealth piled up in $100 bills, most people would be sitting on the floor, a middle-class person from a rich country would be the height of a chair, and the world’s two richest men would be sitting in space.

Just sayin’.
