The New York Giants were the first baseball team to award its players with rings after they won the World Series in 1922. They were very nice. They were made of 14-carat gold and a small diamond rested in the center of a baseball field design.
My, how times have changed.
Fast forward 100 years, and the Houston Astros’ 2022 World Series ring contained 624 diamonds, 12 orange sapphires and 43 blue sapphires.
There’s a lesson here somewhere.
