Last year, Maryana Beyder ordered wine with her meal at the Alpine Country Club in Demarest, NJ (initiation fee: $65,000; annual membership dues: $19,000). Unfortunately, the waiter spilled wine on her $30,000 Hermès Kelly bag. So, Beyder did what any red-blooded American would do. She sued the country club.

But the story doesn’t end there. The club has, in turn, sued its own waiter.

Says her lawyer, “It’s sort of a like a rich person problem.”

No kidding?
