As I write this, it has been 34 hours since I received my second Moderna COVID vaccine.  The nice nurse told me to stay hydrated and to exercise vigorously, so I did, and it seems to have done the trick.  While I had a slightly sore shoulder and felt a little worn down (and took a solid 90-minute mid-day nap), I avoided the body aches, chills, fever and headache that many people I know experienced after their second shot.

On the other hand, I understand that the side-effects can emerge as late as 48 hours after the shot. So perhaps I have spoken too soon.

In any event, tomorrow’s blog will feature my annual, much-loved, Kentucky Derby preview.  Regular readers will recall that I correctly predicted that Authentic would win last year’s race. I hope that they have forgotten that that ended a streak of 12 consecutive years of futility.
