One way to combat climate change is to somehow remove carbon dioxide (the concentration of which in the atmosphere is now at its highest levels for at least the past 800,000 years) from the air. While scientists continue to work on engineering contraptions which can remove carbon from the atmosphere, there’s an old-school approach that might make sense.

Trees.

And Ethiopia, of all places, is leading the way.

Yesterday, Ethiopia set the all-time record, planting some 350 million tree saplings IN ONE DAY. The plan is ultimately to plant some 4 billion trees.

It’s a start.
