This is my 3,573rd — and final — post. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
Ernie Harwell spent 55 years calling major league play-by-play and most of those years were spent calling the games of the Detroit Tigers. Harwell’s voice was one of the unforgettable sounds of my youth.
When Harwell retired, he said to his audience “It’s time to say goodbye, but goodbyes are sad and I’d much rather say hello. Hello to a new adventure.”
I’m off to a new adventure.
