The next time you try to figure out why your prescription costs so much, you may wish to consider this:

According to this article at axios.com, 60 health-care companies and trade organizations collectively spent $309 million on federal lobbying in 2019, an increase of 9 percent from the previous year. That included $120 million from the pharmaceuticals trade group, PhRMA, to pay for 450 lobbyists.

That would pay for a lot of vicodin.
