You’ve doubtless heard about the dozens of parents who (illegally) spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to get their children into some relatively high-octane colleges.
But perhaps you missed the the story about Yusi Zhao. Her father, billionaire Zhao Tao, is Chairman of Shandong Buchang Pharmaceuticals, and met with President Trump in 2017.
Her mother laid out (wait for it) $6.5 million to William “Rick” Singer, the ringleader of the college-admissions scam (which also enticed actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin, along others) to pull whatever strings needed to be pulled to get her into Stanford.
In contrast, Felicity Huffman — who faces the possibility of prison when she is sentenced in September — shelled out a piddling $15,000.
