While colleges and universities throughout the the country have closed their doors and are having their students take classes on line, one notable university is an outlier: Liberty University.

Liberty’s President, Jerry Fallwell, Jr., who says that the reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic is a politically-driven “overreaction ” driven by a liberal desire to damage President Trump, ignored medical advice (and common sense) and reopened the campus for the spring term.

You’ll never guess what happened.

Nearly a dozen Liberty students have already displayed symptoms consistent with a COVID-19 infection, and one student has already tested positive.

Liberty is not offering refunds on the tuition that students paid for the term, but has announced that it will apply a $1,000 credit toward next fall’s tuition.

Which almost certainly won’t be enough to cover the deductible for those students who obtain medical treatment as a result of being infected by the virus.
