Two days ago (click here if you missed it the first time around), I blogged about Toyota’s peculiar decision to contribute money to some 37 members of Congress who refused to certify the 2020 Presidential election.
Apparently, I wasn’t the only person who noticed. The blow-back was evidently pretty quick and pretty fierce (or, more likely, Toyota calculated that it was going to lose more in lost sales than it would gain through its political contributions). According to this article in the New York Times, Toyota has announced that it will no longer make such donations which, Toyota said, “troubled some stakeholders.”
No word on whether the company asked for the contributions to be refunded.
