Charlie Buttrey

Yesterday, I blogged about the fellow who was convicted of DWI after driving his riding mower down the street while under the influence. As peculiar as that may seem, I can do it one better.

In 2015, Steven Anderson of Fargo, ND, was convicted of DWI after he was found to be impaired.  While operating a Zamboni. Between periods of a high school hockey game.

Although his attorney argued that the Zamboni didn’t qualify as a “vehicle” under the statute, wouldn’t you think that the stronger argument would be that the ice wasn’t a “way”?  You would. Unfortunately, that argument didn’t fly, either: Anderson drove the Zamboni out into the parking lot (which definitely IS a “way”) to dump the ice.
