Before you send our your next renewal check to the National Rifle Association, you might want to consider how your dollars will be spent. According to this article in the Wall Street Journal, NRA President Wayne LaPierre, who fended off criticisms over his purchase of $540,000 worth of clothes and travel from the lobby’s coffers, recently tried to get the organization to buy him a $6 million, 10,000-square-foot, French-style lakefront estate in Dallas.

The reason? He claimed he needed a more secure dwelling following backlash over the Parkland, Florida school shootings.
