It’s been a pretty brutal few days in the Green Mountains as far as weather goes.  On the other hand, it’s been downright balmy compared to the top of Mount Washington where, Friday night, the temperature dropped to forty below.  Toss in the wind-chill factor, and it felt like it was 100 degrees below zero.

In sharp contradistinction, it’s a relatively mild -7 degrees at the South Pole.
