Here’s one from the “Perhaps You Are Reading More Into The Law Than You Should” Department:

Police in Boise, Idaho recently told local radio station KAWO that they would enforce the law prohibiting dog racing in the state, even though the “races” involved dachshunds running a 40-feet-long course as part of the annual, family-friendly, “Arena-Wiena Extravaganza.” The law was enacted to target greyhound racing (and even the law’s chief legislative sponsor had indicated it didn’t apply to sled-dog racing, for instance), but the authorities actually threatened to arrest the organizers of the event if the “races” were held, and charge them with felony-level offenses.

While the dachshund races were axed, contestants still had the chance to race remote-controlled vehicles carrying hot dogs.
